1. Introduction
Welcome to TURGOR. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the TURGOR application ("the App").
Because TURGOR is designed as a secure, personal study tool, we have built it with a "local-first" architecture. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect, sell, or monetize your personal identifying information.
2. Data Storage and Local Processing
All of your personal study data — including your custom problems, exam histories, imported PDF reference files, canvas sketches, and study notes — is stored locally on your device (or in your personal iCloud, if you have iCloud backup enabled for your device).
We do not own, host, or have access to your personal database. If you delete the App without backing up your data via the in-app export feature, your data will be permanently removed from your device.
3. Third-Party Services (AI Features)
TURGOR utilizes advanced Artificial Intelligence to generate study guides and answer engineering questions. To provide this feature, the App integrates with the Google Gemini API.
When you interact with the AI Professor or use the "Sparkle" button to scan a document:
- What is sent: The specific text you type into the chat, the text extracted from the specific document you are analyzing, and the relevant app context are sent securely to Google's servers for processing.
- What is NOT sent: No personal identifying information (PII), such as your name, email address, or device identifier, is attached to these requests.
Google's use of this data is governed by their own API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We strongly recommend not entering sensitive personal or confidential corporate information into the AI chat.
4. Tracking and Analytics
TURGOR does not use third-party tracking software, advertising SDKs, or background location tracking. We do not monitor your behavior across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data to advertisers.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for adult professionals and university students preparing for advanced certifications. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification.
